Emergency stop switches of EAO series 84 are proven in the market for many years. They mark up to the most important safety controls in mechanical engineering and process automation and comply two important protective functions: Personal protection as well as protection of machines against damages.
Improved emergency stop switches
The emergency stop switches of EAO were developed within a product update whereby many features were optimized. Dimensions and installation openings remained unchanged.
Increased protection class
The front protection class was extended from IP65 to IP65/67. For ribbon cable designs the rear protection class was also increased from IP20 to IP40.
Longer mechanical life
The mechanical life indicates how often a switch can be operated without electrical load. This feature of EAO’s emergency stop switches was increased fivefold. Initially the switches of series 84 were designed for 50.000 cycles of operation. The optimized switches are designed for up to 250.000 cycles of operation.
SMD LEDs (5 – 30 VDC) are used in the redesigned emergency stop switches of series 84. Due to the higher light intensity of the new and improved LED illumination the switches are more visible for the operator – even from the side.
Bi-Color LED illumination
Recently, the emergency stop switches are available with red/green Bi-Color LED illumination. They are particularly suitable for applications where the operator needs an additional visual response. Thus, for example, the accurate position of an operational disruption can be indicated in the production process.
