Customized TE PowerTube pigtails with Huber and Suhner Radox HV cables available from a quantity of one.
In order to manufacture and offer highly reliable high-voltage (HV) cable assembly solutions, HUBER+SUHNER has invested in electromagnetic pulse technology (EMPT) in addition to the established crimping technology. In collaboration with TE and HUBER+SUHNER, an innovative HV cable assembly solution has been developed. The PowerTube HV connectors in combination with the shielded RADOX® HV cables, assembled using the EMPT solution, ensure reliable, robust and durable electrical connections throughout the vehicle. This solution is available in two series - PowerTube 1000 (HVP-HD 100) and PowerTube 1400 (HVP-HD 1400). You can obtain these assemblies from us from just one piece at a manageable cost.
With a robust design and braided shielding that efficiently handles high current loads, RADOX® HV cables offer strong resistance to various potential safety risks. They have ECE R118 approval for flame retardant propagation and ADR approval for high abrasion resistance. These cables can operate in a wide temperature range from -40 °C to 150 °C / 3000 hours, including handling peaks of up to 250 °C. This ensures reliable durability even in demanding applications.
The robust properties of the RADOX® HV cables in combination with the TE connector design are crucial for high performance in assemblies and connections.
By implementing EMPT technology, HUBER+SUHNER has created in-house assembly capabilities that make it possible to quickly meet market requirements for prototypes while supporting small series deliveries. Although the part numbers for pigtails are defined by standard lengths (1 m, 3 m and 5 m), customized lengths can easily be generated.
By combining the TE connector and RADOX® HV cable, vibrations at motor level are a thing of the past, as a circular 360° shielding ensures high electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Depending on the operating temperature, the TE PowerTube series is capable of handling large electrical loads up to 580 A continuous current and 1000 V as well as several wire sizes between 35 and 150 mm².
