Making loose contacts
Loose contacts are always required for the production of prototypes, wiring harnesses in small quantities and for repair work. When you buy contacts on reels, it is very convenient to have the right cutting tool to make single contacts safely and easily. Traditional cutting tools, such as tin snips or side cutters, often do not cut the contacts cleanly (flush) and / or create a sharp burr that can even damage the wire insulation. TE Connectivity's new hand tool solves this problem. The pliers have been developed so that they can cut individual contacts from strips and coils with high accuracy.
Easy to use
In just a few simple steps you can make the necessary three settings. The adjustment of the height with two screws of a vertically adjustable plate, the depth with two screws on the horizontally adjustable side block and the contact position via a limit screw. With these setting options, you can use this hand tool to separate hundreds of different contacts from the side carrier strips.
The hand tool is suitable for applications with low requirements for loose contacts, such as
- prototype construction
- Cable assemblies in smaller quantities
And in a lot of areas, like among others
- in industrial applications
- in apparatus and equipment construction
- in aerospace applications
- in marine applications
- in the automotive industry
Your advantages at a glance:
- Ergonomic design with good grip
- many different contact types can be processed
- Light weight of the hand tool
- Manual feeding of the carrier strips
- Good price-performance ratio with simple operation and user-friendliness
Please note that this tool is only used to cut the contacts. The appropriate crimping hand tool for the different contacts must be ordered separately.
