HARTING is expanding its portfolio with the Han® MPC, a miniature industrial connector designed for commercial drones, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and humanoid robots. The Miniature Power Connector (MPC) combines high current-carrying capacity with reliable signal transmission and a compact, lightweight design. It thus meets the SWaP requirements—Size, Weight, and Power—that are critical for unmanned aerial vehicles.
Two sizes for different power requirements
The Han® MPC is available in the MPC30 and MPC60 variants. The MPC30 handles a rated current of up to 30 A and can withstand up to 180 A for ten seconds. The MPC60 is rated for up to 60 A and allows peak currents of up to 350 A for ten seconds.
Optionally, up to four har-speed signal contacts can be integrated. This allows for the reliable transmission of DroneCAN signals in addition to power transmission. Crimp contacts with silver-plated (for power) or gold-plated (for signals) surfaces ensure a robust and durable connection.
Reliable Connections Within the UAV
In drones, the Han® MPC can, among other things, handle the connection between the battery, the power distribution board, and the electronic speed controller. Especially when installation space is limited, the combination of power and signal contacts offers a compact alternative to separate interfaces. Various housing designs, as well as straight and angled PCB variants, enable flexible integration.
