Further DC charging cables for higher currents, including liquid-cooled variants, are planned for 2025. In parallel, Phoenix Contact is developing customized vehicle charging sockets for car manufacturers and, from 2026, universal vehicle charging sockets for commercial vehicles, mobile machinery and the transport sector in various performance classes.

The Megawatt Charging System (MCS)

The Megawatt Charging System (MCS) is a globally standardized fast charging system for heavy commercial vehicles with charging capacities of up to 3.75 MW. Since the establishment of the CharIN MCS task force in 2018, Phoenix Contact has been working on the definition of requirements and standards for the development of the MCS.
